Safety, Logistics & Program Assurance
StoryBridge is committed to thoughtful planning, responsible program management, and clear communication to support safe and meaningful field-based learning experiences in Nepal.
Health & Safety Approach
Programs are developed with careful attention to local context, transportation planning, accommodations, communication systems, and emergency readiness. StoryBridge works closely with local partners and institutions to support participant wellbeing throughout each program.
Emergency Support & Communication
StoryBridge maintains clear communication protocols and emergency contact pathways for Kathmandu and the Chautara–Irkhu region of Sindhupalchok District, Central Nepal. Participants and university partners receive guidance on communication procedures prior to and during the program.
Insurance Requirements
International participants are expected to carry or be enrolled in appropriate travel coverage that includes overseas medical treatment, emergency medical evacuation, security evacuation, and 24/7 assistance.
Program-specific insurance requirements are reviewed with university partners during planning.
Program Changes, Cancellation & Interruption
In the event of civil unrest, natural disaster, public health conditions, transportation disruptions, or other unforeseen circumstances, StoryBridge may modify, postpone, relocate, or cancel a program.
StoryBridge works directly with university partners to communicate next steps, identify recoverable expenses where possible, and determine appropriate rescheduling or alternative program options. Final financial terms are outlined in institutional agreements and participant materials.
Prepared, Connected, and Responsive
StoryBridge programs are grounded in strong local relationships, continuous communication, and readiness to respond thoughtfully to changing conditions.
Evacuation & Contingency Planning
StoryBridge maintains contingency procedures for shelter-in-place, relocation, and early departure if conditions require it. Decisions may include relocation to Kathmandu or suspension of the program, based on evolving conditions and institutional coordination.
Detailed evacuation protocols, transportation planning, and operational procedures are maintained internally and shared directly with university partners as part of program planning.
Pre-Departure & On-Site Preparation
Participants receive pre-departure information covering communication, expectations, health considerations, and travel preparation. On-site orientation provides guidance on local context, transportation, communication, and safety practices.
Institutional Coordination
StoryBridge works collaboratively with faculty leaders and study abroad offices to align documentation, communication plans, emergency procedures, and insurance expectations prior to program launch.
